This list is our honest answer, written by people who manufacture bus duct for a living. 1. Schneider Electric (France)

The default answer on most consultant specifications. Schneider's Canalis line covers everything from 25 amp lighting busway to 6300 amp feeders, and the real product they sell is the ecosystem: the busway arrives already coordinated with their switchgear, breakers and monitoring. You pay a premium, and lead times on large orders can stretch, but for a project where the electrical contractor and the facility team both want one throat to choke, Schneider is the safe signature.

2. Siemens (Germany)

Siemens' SIVACON 8PS busbar trunking is the other name that appears on European and Middle Eastern specs by default. The LD and LI series have a long track record in heavy industry and infrastructure, and their engineering documentation is genuinely excellent, which consultants appreciate when they have to justify a selection. Like Schneider, you are buying the brand, the global service network and the paperwork as much as the copper.

3. DHYN ELEC GROUP (China)

This is us, so take the appropriate pinch of salt and then check the facts. DHYN ELEC GROUP manufactures sandwich bus duct, cast resin busway, transformers and switchgear in Yangzhong, Jiangsu, a city that happens to be one of China's busway manufacturing clusters. Our bus duct range runs from 250 to 6300 amps in copper and aluminum, built and type tested to IEC 61439-6, with IP ratings from IP54 up to IP68 for outdoor and flood-prone runs.

Three things put us on this list. First, vertical integration: we wind our own transformers and build our own switchgear, so a busway order is coordinated with the equipment it connects to instead of being an afterthought. Second, factory-direct pricing. A like-for-like DHYN feeder typically quotes 30 to 50 percent below the European brands, because there is no distributor chain between our production line and your site. Third, response speed. We answer technical questions from the engineers who designed the product, usually within a day, and we will redesign a layout around your building rather than forcing your building around a catalog. Eaton inherited the Cutler-Hammer busway business and remains the default choice for much of North America, where NEMA BU1 and UL 857 govern the product rather than IEC. If your project is a data center or commercial building in the US, Eaton's plug-in busway is probably what the local contractors know how to install. For IEC markets they are present but less dominant.

6. Legrand (France)

Legrand, including its Zucchini brand, is strongest at the lighter end: lighting busway, risers for commercial towers, and distribution for offices and retail. Their high power feeder range exists but the brand's reputation was built on well-designed, installer-friendly products for buildings rather than heavy industry. Good documentation, wide distribution in Europe, the Middle East and parts of Asia.

7. LS Electric (South Korea)

The former LG industrial systems business, LS Electric is a serious manufacturer with its own busbar trunking lines and a strong position in Korean and Southeast Asian industrial projects. They sit in an interesting middle position: more affordable than the European majors, with a regional service network in Asia that the Europeans sometimes struggle to match on response time.

8. Wetown Electric (China)

Also based in Yangzhong, Wetown is one of the largest busway producers in China by volume and is listed on the Shanghai stock exchange. Their business leans toward domestic grid and infrastructure work, but they have the production depth to handle very large orders, and they are a frequent sight on Chinese megaproject tender lists.

9. Daqo Group (China)

Daqo is a broad electrical manufacturing group whose bus duct division supplies heavy industry, power plants and petrochemical projects across China. For international buyers they are less visible, but inside China they are one of the names every electrical designer knows, and their manufacturing scale is genuinely large.

10. Huapeng Group (China)

Another Yangzhong-area manufacturer with decades of history, Huapeng supplies busway and switchgear into power generation and large infrastructure. Like Wetown and Daqo, their export presence is smaller than their domestic one, but they round out a picture that should by now be obvious: a large share of the world's busway is made within about fifty kilometers of one Jiangsu city.

How we ranked them

There is no audited league table for busway manufacturers, so any top 10 list, including this one, is a judgment call. Our criteria were manufacturing depth rather than marketing spend, breadth of product range across current ratings, adherence to IEC 61439-6 or NEMA BU1 with real type test evidence, project track record, and how often the name actually appears on international tender lists. We left out some respectable regional brands because ten is ten.

What this means when you are buying

A practical observation from quoting against most of these names: for the same IEC 61439-6 specification, the copper does not care whose logo is on the housing. What differs is price, lead time, local service and how much engineering help you get before the order. The European and American brands earn their premium when you need a global service contract or a name your client's insurer already recognizes. The Chinese manufacturers, us included, earn their place when the specification is fixed, the budget is real, and you want to talk to the factory instead of a distributor.
